Northstowe Cohousing will be in Block C of a 4-block development site that will be on the edge of the town centre of Northstowe, a new town being built near Cambridge. Our enabling developers are TOWN in partnership with developers and house-builders Hill Residential. Our neighbours in Block B will be Suvana Cohousing, a cohousing community based on Buddhist values.
The planning application was submitted in November 2025 and we are expecting work to start on site later in 2026 with a view to us moving in sometime in 2028.
Our vision statement for our new community is:
We are co-creating an active, lively, multi-generational cohousing community where supportive neighbours share their enthusiasm, time and skills in support of community life and where everyone has the opportunity (to the extent they wish) to be part of an extended community family.
Our community aims to foster a strong sense of belonging, shared contribution and connection where every resident is heard and valued.
We are committed to sustainable living in its broadest sense. Through collaboration, shared resources, and thoughtful design we are seeking to reduce our environmental footprint, improve our resilience, realise economies from collaboration, and avoid the harms of social isolation.
Our community will be a good neighbour and a positive member of the wider Northstowe community and, in particular, will be supportive of local environmental initiatives.
