We aim to create a cohousing community of about 20-30 households: that is, a cluster of dwellings designed for a nourishing and sustainable lifestyle, where each household has private space but also shares resources, activities and responsibilities with other households. Together we will manage our community and develop good relations with the wider community. We will keep our community as accessible as we can to people who are committed to living and working together in this way, and encourage others to develop similar communities.
The focus is on finding a site and raising money. The group will have to work up a business plan and may have commissioned some feasibility studies. They may have their first experience of small scale contracts with professionals. This stage ends when a ‘definite’ site is found. There may be several iterations of this stage.
Fortnightly core group business meeting are closed to the public. Monthly public socials, often with a led discussion or activity are open to all. Sign up on our website for details.
