Kent Cohousing is pursuing an opportunity to create cohousing at Ebbsfleet Garden City in North Kent. Ebbsfleet has an NHS Healthy New Town status and research has been undertaken into ‘Ageing Well’ and it was great to discover that intergenerational cohousing, which we are planning to create, has been identified as fitting in really well with this theme and also with garden city principles as set out by TCPA.
One of the exciting themes at Ebbsfleet is the Creative Estuary which has an ambition to make it ‘one of the most exciting cultural hubs in the world’ with arts, culture, maker spaces, ideas labs and more.
We meet with Ebbsfleet Development Corporation regularly and there are sites we are looking at with them to move to the next step. Our next meeting is in September so it is a great time to join us if you are interested in being part of the first cohousing community in a new garden city.
