The £300m Community Housing Fund was announced in the 2016 Spring Budget and has created lots of excitement since it was officially launched in December 2016. Lasting five years, the Fund has the potential to transform the community-led housing sector, by giving local community groups the chance to take housing matters into their own hands.
Through the Fund an additional 13,000 homes will be built across the country by 2021. However, the recent election has delayed these plans, and the appointment of a new Housing Minister has created fresh uncertainty.
We’ve launched a national lobbying campaign, in partnership with the Confederation of Cooperative Housing and the National Community Land Trust Network, calling on the Government to commit to supporting the future of the community-led housing movement
Now is the time to be a local champion for community-led housing. Support our campaign, by writing to you local MP.
