The exciting news is that planning permission has been granted and Still Green are moving to Wolverton, Milton Keynes!
We are currently working with TOWN, the same developers who built the award-winning Marmalade Lane cohousing community in Cambridge, to finalise the layouts of the apartments and common areas. There are still 4 apartments and one which is fully wheelchair accessible available – so its not to late to join us. Planning permission for a larger development of which we will be a part was submitted in early December 2020 by TOWN, the same developers who built the award-winning Marmalade Lane cohousing community in Cambridge. We are looking to move in during the later part of 2022, so please get in touch if you are interested in reserving your place.
Twenty-nine 1 to 3-bed apartments, each with their own private outside area, and a shared ‘common house’ will surround a south-facing courtyard garden. We are working closely with the landscape consultant on the design for the garden and with a specialist accessibility consultant.
Our homes will be built to high sustainability standards and benefit from being part of a scheme-wide community-owned energy system. Our ‘common house’ will be at the heart of the community and will have a south-facing kitchen, living and dining area for communal meals and events that will open out onto a large terrace, as well as a guest bedroom, shared laundry and bike/mobility scooter store. There will be some allocated parking for members, including electric car charging points.
The wider Love Wolverton scheme is located within Wolverton Conservation Area and will regenerate the town centre, providing a mix of well-designed apartments and family houses as well as new shops, cafes and other amenities to reinstate the historic high street and commercial core of Wolverton. This is going to be a great location for a senior cohousing community.
