After 14+ years of working on this project, we are delighted that all members (except 1 who is due to move into her beautiful first floor flat in June 24) are now resident at Hazelmead – Bridport Cohousing‘s new neighbourhood of 53 homes –  14 for shared ownership sale at 80% of open market value, 13 for shared ownership buying between 25% & 75% of OMV and 26 for social rent, and a common house (which we are currently building ourselves, using locally sourced materials). Solar energy, collected from rooftops, is feeding into our micro-grid and residents help out with communal food growing in the summer months. Local people will take priority in allocation of homes, in line with our Local Lettings Policy. We foster good relations with our neighbours and other community projects in Bridport.
