Shangrileeds

Primary tabs

We want to develop an alternative model of housing that is more environmentally responsible and makes a positive contribution to the wider community. We are looking to create a diverse, intergenerational community that is welcoming to everybody who wants to be involved.

We will work collaboratively, sharing skills, knowledge and experience, drawing on professionals to work with us as needed. We are looking for people who want to join us and share our values, regardless of ethnicity, age, gender, disability, sexuality or religion. By building the community together, we will learn, become more self-aware and share both challenges and successes along the way.

As well as visiting our website you can keep up to date with our developments through our Facebook group.

Stage:
The focus is on finding a site and raising money. The group will have to work up a business plan and may have commissioned some feasibility studies. They may have their first experience of small scale contracts with professionals. This stage ends when a ‘definite’ site is found. There may be several iterations of this stage.
Regular Events:
Meet at Muir, St Michael's Road, Headingley, Leeds LS6 3AP on the 2nd Saturday of each month. Join us for a shared lunch at 12:30.
