Featherstone Cohousing

Primary tabs

We are developing a cohousing scheme for over-50s in Sydenham Hill, south-east London, based on converting and extending a large Victorian house.  Featherstone Lodge is a large locally listed Victorian house situated on Sydenham Hill.

It has the potential to be divided into at least 12 spacious flats. It has a very large and beautiful garden which contains a former gymnasium. Featherstone Lodge is a few minutes walk from Horniman Museum and gardens and Dulwich Woods. It is under 10 minutes walk from Forest Hill Station.

As a cohousing group we will need to purchase Featherstone Lodge from its current owner and then fund the conversion works. Although there is some potential for self-build, it is anticipated that we would jointly fund the creation of the individual units and the provision of services.

Prospective members will need to be able raise an initial sum of about  £100,000 towards the purchase of the property and between £150-£200,000, over a slightly longer period towards refurbishment costs.

It may be possible to live in the house while this work is being undertaken.

If you are interested you can contact me at johncsfarr@outlook.com  or you can come to our open day on Sunday 11th September at between 12 noon and 2pm

Featherstone Lodge is located at 1 Eliot Bank SE23 3XE, near the very top of Eliot Bank.
